Keep Colorado Springs Queer Open Mic

Spoken word poet Jamie Mortara performing to a crowd of people on an outdoor cafe patio at the Colorado Springs Queer Open Mic

Founded in 2016 and still going strong in 2024, Keep Colorado Springs Queer is the longest running queer open mics in Colorado. It represents a collective of queer artists, comedians, poets, and musicians, and has featured over a dozen LGBTQIA2+ artists, both local and touring.

To learn more or come to future events, join our Facebook group, or follow Nico on Instagram for updates.

Want to feature at queer open mic?

If you’re a local or traveling performer and you’re interested in featuring at queer open mic, please contact me and we can look at available dates. All performers are paid an honorarium and are offered a place to crash during their stay in Colorado Springs.

Quaill Club

The Quaill (Queer Artists in the League of Love) Club was a project that sought to combine queer community, creative expression, and sustainable living. It operated from 2017 to 2023 as a queer living, creating, and farming space that housed over 15 people in its operation, as well as dozens of chickens, two goats, a hive of bees, and many plants.

While the Quaill Club is no longer in operation, you can still see more about the project’s growth through the Instagram account. If you have any questions about starting or operating a space similar to the Quaill Club, contact me. I also hope to release a zine that details some of the lessons learned in facilitating the space.
