Performing: Colorado Springs Women's March

This march initiates the first 100 days of resisting and responding to racist, bigoted, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, anti-semitic, anti-muslim, anti-immigrant, anti-women's choice policies and rhetoric validated with the inauguration of Donald Trump as president.

March On Colorado Springs is a sister march in correspondence with the Women's March On Washington, as well as the Women's March on Denver and the other 200 (and counting) sister marches being planned in the U.S. and its territories and 39 internationally.

Keep COS Queer Presents: Inauguration Book Release

On January 20 2017, Haymarket Books will release Inauguration, a free digital chapbook by Colorado Poets Idris Goodwin and Nico Wilkinson.

Inauguration is a collection of ten poems written in reaction to the onset of a new political regime. Writing out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, one of the most divided cities in the country, Goodwin and Wilkinson trade ruminations of survival in a hostile political climate. Yet Inauguration transcends partisan rhetoric. It is a response to the noise and the silence, a rallying call to collectively find our way forward.

On Inauguration day, January 20th at 7 p.m. Keep Colorado Springs Queer is excited to host the Inauguration book release party at the Fine Arts Center. Goodwin and Wilkinson will be joined by local performers Arielle Mari, Mallory Everhart, Ashley Cornelius, Lukey Walden, and Stoney Bertz (more TBA). A limited edition printed chapbook of Inauguration, published by Han Sayles, will be available for purchase after the performance.

Admission is free, seating is limited. The event will happen inside of the Taste, located on the east side of the FAC building (there will be signs directing). Cash bar. Doors open at 6:30pm.

KEEP COLORADO SPRINGS QUEER is a collective of comedians, poets, and musicians in Colorado Springs who gather for monthly open mics. They seek to showcase queer voices by creating a safe environment for artistic expression.
